Series on Color Pallates of Film Directors
Year: January 2016-May 2016
This was just a spare time project for myself, it’s part of a 12 part series I did examining how different directors tend to use a certain color palette, and how that a directors color palette can change over the years and yet still have similarities to their debut film. This series was inspired by a graphic that I had seen on the internet years prior, but frankly wasn’t very well designed. These have been really great gifts for my friends and family, to the point that I thought about opening an Etsy storefront for them, but when it came down to it I had enough on my plate at that time and didn’t want to sink a whole bunch of money into something that might not turn out well
The other directors that I made posters for are: Christopher Nolan, David Lynch, Lars von Trier, Martin Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson, Powell and Pressburger, Quentin Tarantino (with a trademark river of blood red), Ron Fricke, Stanley Kubrick, and Stephen Speilberg.
